Vandals hit Pinjar

Yesterday we received a report that vandals on quad bikes have badly damaged works on the new family zone car park at the Pinjar Off Road Vehicle Area.

After the effort that has gone into securing funding to develop the Pinjar facility for riders and their families this is obviously very distressing news.

At the least it will mean that funds that could have been used for more trails development will need to be diverted to repair the car park – at worst it will dampen DEC’s enthusiasm for continuing to develop this area.

I don’t believe that the idiot/s who perpetrated this wanton destruction would have been RTRA members, but if anyone saw anything last weekend that might assist in identifying the quad riders responsible please let us know by email or by completing an Incident Report on the RTRA web site. Any information supplied will of course remain anonymous.

More importantly, can any members who are up at Pinjar this weekend or over the school holidays keep an eye out for anyone doing donuts or otherwise damaging the car park area or roads.  A description would be good, a photo would be better, a registration number of their tow vehicle even better.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
