RTRA Member Only Rides

West Coast Safaris have been a strong supporter of the RTRA from the beginning. So we were delighted to create two West Coast Safaris RTRA Members Only Rides held in November.

The prospect of riding anywhere so close to summer usually involves heat and dust. Not so with the RTRA's second West Coast Safaris ride on the weekend. After the unseasonal rain during the week the 18 riders enjoyed cool and overcast conditions on Saturday, with a good soaking of rain on Saturday afternoon just to get everyone into the Manjimup spirit. The tour involved around 360km of superb trails - from flowing firetrails to some overgrown tracks in the tall Karri country, to some technical single trail in the pines. The more adventurous in the group tackled Tanjanerup Hill near Nannup - while the rest perched halfway up and offered moral support (and the occasional push).

A great way to finish the Spring riding season, and we're looking at an October date next year (can't rely on jagging the weather in late November two years in a row!).

Introductory Ride - November 7

2 Day Manjimup Ride - November 21 / 22
Two rides were held - a One Day Introductory ride on November 7 and a two day Manjimup ride on November 21-22.

The Introductory ride took in a mix of forestry trails and easier terrain and was ideal for newer riders or those who just want a cruisier ride to take in the magnificent South West scenery. It departed from the West Coast Safaris base in Kirup with a lunch stop at Nannup.

The 2 Day ride also started at Kirup, taking in the breathtaking Blackwood Valley before heading south to the tall timber country and an overnight stay at Manjimup. This trip provided a variety of terrain, and suited all levels, as there were several options for those who prefer a little challenge along the way!

Special RTRA Member pricing applied and included accommodation, all meals, snacks, support and all fuel after the first tank.

The success of these rides has encouraged us to schedule them again for 2010. If you have a licence and a registered bike this is a fantastic opportunity to ride some of Australia's best trails with one of Australia's most professional tour operators.
