Rangers and Police Targeting Gnangara

16-Nov-2009

We received a report through our Ranger Incident Reporting system that DEC rangers and police undertook an operation at Gnangara over the weekend of 14-15 November.

Riders were warned against riding in the area without Off Road Vehicle registration (or road registration), and against riding anywhere outside the designated Off Road Vehicle Area boundaries (which excludes Centre Way).

RTRA contacted DEC Wanneroo and were advised that this action was part of an initiative to support legitimate riders by targeting irresponsible riders, rubbish dumpers and people who thrash around in the area in cars. DEC has recently had approval to spend a significant amount of money on improving both Gnangara and Pinjar for riders. We can expect to see increased enforcement in the area over the next few months.
