McCallum Road Carpark Ripped

21-Jul-2015

Fears by some riders that the machine-ripping of the McCallum Road carpark off Metro Road is the start of an action to reduce riding in the area have been dispelled by DPaW.

According to Acting District Manager, Jamie Ridley, the works were 'standard' State Forest revegetation practice and there is no intention to move further up Metro Road.

DPaW is still keen to see the Metro Road area developed as a regional riding precinct and have contributed towards the cost of developing a Master Plan for the area. The RTRA is currently seeking funding to cover the balance of the budget and we're optimistic that the planning process will be able to commence soon.

Our thanks to the Metro Road riders who brought this issue to our attention.  We will always follow up on issues like this, but we rely on our members letting us know when they spot something out there that we should know about.
