City of Swan to Search for ORV Site

10-Oct-2007

The City of Swan will produce a report identifying possible sites for the use of off-road vehicles. According to a report in this week's Hills Gazette newspaper Cr Mick Wainwright who proposed the motion said there was an obvious lack of facilities for metropolitan off-road vehicle users. State and Federal land within the city would be among the areas considered, but areas must be more than three kilometres from existing or proposed residential areas.

RTRA will contact Cr Wainwright and the City of Swan to seek clarification on the proposal, especially given that the Gnangara ORV area is within the City of Swan and should be considered for proper development. The fact that City of Swan recognises the need and is prepared to do something about it is a positive sign and should be encouraged.
