Capel Dirt Bike Rally

16-Sep-2007

It was billed as a '...very easy ride with flowing trails'. Easy it certainly wasn't, muddy it was, but at the end of the day over 120 riders enjoyed a great day of varied riding. The Capel ride is one of the highlights of the recreational calendar - and this year really tested skills and fitness. The ride was originally supposed to be one 60km loop ridden twice - but the course setters were obviously having too much fun and by the end of the loop the trip meter was showing over 75km.

Many riders commented that the ride was harder than most enduros, and not well suited to casual trail riders. This was probably reflected in the fact that only about half the entrants set out on the second loop. But hard though it may have been, there was a sea of weary smiles at the end of the day, some great stories and the obligatory embarrassing video!
