South-West SuperTrail

The South-West of Western Australia is blessed with some of the best riding terrain and scenery in the country.

The South-West SuperTrail is a concept similar to the Bibbulman Track or Munda Biddi bike trail. Extending from the metropolitan area to Albany, two single-direction trails (one North and the other South) will provide a spectacular ride or a series of loops originating from local towns along the way.

Objectives:

To participate in - and if necessary lead - the planning and negotiations to achieve the South-West SuperTrail vision

Activities:

  • Develop the concept of the South-West Supertrail
  • Enlist support from the industry, clubs, landholders and government agencies
  • Coordinate submissions for grant funding
  • Participate in - and if necessary lead - the detailed planning process.

Status

  • Initial discussions with Department of Sport and Recreation
  • Initial discussions with Motorcycling WA
  • Information gathering about processes user to create Munda Biddi and Bibbulman tracks
  • Department of Environment and Conservation has commissioned an ORV Land Use study to identify potentially suitable trails . routes and areas.
