Kwinana Off Road Vehicle Area
RTRA has been working to keep this area open since 2007 when the area was temporarily closed. In 2008 the Town of Kwinana sought to have the area permanently closed and the RTRA successfully lobbied the State Government to have the area re-opened in August 2008.
Current status -
- the Town of Kwinana is seeking funding to implement the recommendations of the Management Plan that has been prepared for the area.
- the area is unmanaged, no delineation of area boundaries and terrain is sandy and difficult for small wheeled bikes.
Future Projects:
Once the Town of Kwinana receives funding and commences re-development, RTRA will be seeking interest from members to form a "Friends of Kwinana ORVA" to assist with volunteer management and maintenance of the area.

RTRA POSITION
This is the only off-road vehicle area to service all of the southern suburbs and it is inadequate both in development and size. A new, much larger area is needed for the souther suburbs. However this area, if developed properly would make a good local spot and should certainly be retained. We urge the Government to invest in creating a true "Trail bike park" here. RTRA will then assist by supporting and managing a volunteer "Friends of Kwinana" group.
